MANAGEMENT

GeoChem Applications was founded in 1992 by William L. (Will) Neal, President and Principal Geoscientist.  Will's idea was to apply principles of geochemistry to better understand the complex and dynamic nature of groundwater quality within a regulatory framework, where any increase in monitored constituent concentrations could trigger a clean-up action.  With his unique blend of experience in applied and theoretical geochemistry, statistical data analysis, hands-on analytical laboratory testing, and quality control/bias analysis, Will works to solve the most critical question of groundwater compliance monitoring programs: deciphering natural water quality conditions (background) from man-made contamination.  Now, decades later, with much more stringent health standards for arsenic and other naturally occurring chemicals, combined with drought conditions in California and elsewhere creating significant changes in natural water quality, the need for this expertise to help dischargers and operators with their compliance monitoring programs continues to grow.
